Visiting Langdale Valley this Summer Holidays?

The summer holidays are almost upon us, and there’s no better time to round up the kids and head off for a fantastic day of fun in the great outdoors.

And whether you're nearby or visiting the Lake District on holiday, Little Langdale and the Three Shires Inn really do make a great place for a memorable day out for all the family.

Action or Leisure?

Whatever your idea of the perfect family day out, we’ve got it here on our doorstep. If you’re in search of action and adventure, then how about cycling and mountain biking around miles of traffic-free country lanes, bridleways, and forest tracks? Or taking part in an organised scramble along the pools and waterfalls of Tilberthwaite Ghyll? Why not push the boat out and learn to paddle a canoe or sail a boat?

And if your ideal day is a little more laid back and leisurely, then perhaps a gentle low level stroll to see the ancient and delightful Slater Bridge, the fascinating Greenburn Mines, or the dramatic Colwith Force waterfalls would fit the bill? Gentle exercise, magnificent scenery, and loads of interest to keep the kids occupied along the way. Or how about a trip around Coniston Water on the beautiful old steam-powered yacht Gondola?

And remember that muddy boots, grubby kids, and four legged friends are all very welcome here at the Three Shires, so there’s no need to worry about how messy you got playing in the stream!
