We love exploring the fells around Little Langdale, but you don’t always have to go uphill to have a good walk. This loop takes you over to Little Langdale’s big brother Great Langdale via some lovely native woodland with delightful views to the high fells of Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle.

So, the clocks have gone back, the nights have drawn in and summer is already starting to feel like a distant memory. But, at the Three Shires Inn, we like to focus on the positives and one good thing about winter is that all those long, dark nights are good for stargazing.

Autumn is well and truly upon us in the Lake District.
The shadows are creeping across Little Langdale ever earlier, the leaves are crisping and colouring, and the chilly air is nipping at our ears.
However, there is still plenty of wildlife to look out for during your visit to the Three Shires Inn.
