From the front of the Three Shires Inn, the fells of Wetherlam and Swirl How are the two high fells that are easiest to spot to the south west (weather permitting, of course). They are such a feature of the Little Langdale landscape we named two of our rooms after them.
This walk is a great way to familiarise yourself with our gorgeous little corner of the Lake District and work up an appetite (and a thirst) before dinner. It can take anything from an hour to two hours, depending on how long you dawdle, and is mainly on roads and good tracks. It can be very muddy on top of Little Fell though, so make sure you wear the right footwear.
A handful of interesting and unusual things to do which are all within easy distance of the Three Shires Inn, and which won’t leave you tired and sore at the end of the day.
But beyond the ‘giants’ of the App Store, there are a few other lesser-known smartphone apps which we think you might find useful during your stay in the Lake District.
